If you’re a friend of hers on Facebook then you might have seen her Live with the sweet hashtag #talesfromthecrossfit.
We’re shining the spotlight on Roxy Simmons this week to learn a little more about Roxy and honor one of our great members.
Tell us about yourself. Work? Family life?
Hunter is 9 and Hayleigh is 6.
I help my husband Robert run his automotive body shop that we built on our property and I’m building a amazing network marketing business around my crazy life!
We love animals and have 3 cats and 4 dogs!
What made you try CrossFit for the first time?
I FINALLY said yes to my life long friend Michelle to come to a Ladies night and it totally changed my view of CrossFit!
What was your first impression of CrossFit Jacked?
I walked in the door knowing Nothing and I was accepted and encouraged immediately!
What physical changes have you seen thus far?
Gaining muscle tone and my body changing.
I have learned that losing weight isn’t enough.
You need to replace fat with muscle because when you start losing a good deal of weight you need to tone your body!!
Besides coming to class, what do you enjoy doing during your free time? Any hobbies?
Wait, what is free time?
Haha I like going to car shows and fishing and doing things with my family, being involved in small groups with church.
My hobby is expensive so I’ve put it on the back burner right now!!!
I have ridden and shown horses in jumping events since I was 6 but right now my kids and business come before horses but there will be time for that later!
When did you start CrossFit?
I started CrossFit in August 2017.
What’s your favorite thing about CrossFit?
Making myself horribly uncomfortable trying new things!!
I wasn’t really pushing myself until I came to CrossFit Jacked!
Favorite music/song to CrossFit too?
I love rap, rock, just not upbeat pop!!
I can’t Beyoncé it while I’m sweating to death! I need something to make me think I’m tough!!
Tell us something that we don’t know about you.
What advice would you offer a new member at CrossFit Jacked?
We all sucked when we started!!!
Sometimes you are thinking through the whole workout that you can’t do it then you do!
You are there to work on you and you are only competing to be better than you were yesterday!
Anybody can do CrossFit and it can be scaled to your individual ability! Oh, and You won’t die!!!
What’s the wallpaper on your phone right now?
A picture of my kids in a cotton field.
